COVID Safety Procedures

Safe rest in the Tatry Super Ski resorts. Let's take care of our health together.

There is no better way to do this than the fresh and clean mountain air. This season skiing will be a bit different. The stations affiliated in the Tatry Super Ski group offer not only great joy of skiing, but also a number of other possibilities.

Therefore, based on the current guidelines, regulations and recommendations issued by the Chief Sanitary Inspector, as well as Ministries of Health, and Economic Development for the 2020/2021 winter season, we are introducing additional procedures aimed at guaranteeing the safety of all tourists, employees, and residents of the region.

Each of us can make a significant contribution to guarantee the safety of oneself and others, so please follow strictly these preventive measures.

What actions have we taken to make rest in our resorts safe?

Ski stations and lifts:

All Tatry Super Ski resorts have prepared very responsibly for the season. We have adapted our facilities to the requirements developed by the Ministries of Health, and Economic Development with the participation of the Chief Sanitary Inspector. Here are the activities that we conduct on-site on an ongoing basis:

  • We have equipped station employees with personal protective equipment – masks, gloves, face shields and disinfectants.
  • At all stations we have placed public, labelled and regularly replenished dispensers with sanitizer.
  • We regularly sanitize common spaces and the most frequently used equipment (door handles, tabletops, chair backs, switches and handles).
  • We comply with the obligation to cover nose and mouth at work and we ask you to do so (in resorts, ski lifts and cable cars).
  • Depending on the weather conditions, we try to ventilate the rooms of the ski resorts systematically.
  • We increased the distances between station employees and introduced solutions that limit their contacts – e.g. shift work and division of facilities into several zones.
  • In each resort, we have prepared a place to isolate a person showing symptoms of infection.
  • At the station, guests will find posters and stickers with the most necessary safety rules and emergency phone numbers.
  • There is no capacity limitation in the means of transport (i.e. ski lift, chairlift, tape lift, etc.) if the seats are occupied by people living in the same household or staying overnight or traveling together to the tourist-ski station. However, there is a strict obligation to cover mouth and nose by all persons using the lift. Otherwise, there is a strict obligation to keep social distance in accordance with the current regulation and a strict obligation to cover mouth and nose by all users of the lift.

Ski schools and rentals

Skiing and snowboarding are sports that pose a lower risk of infection than other activities - among others due to protection, formed by the basic elements of skiers' equipment – gloves, masks, balaclavas, bandanas and goggles. Slope ski schools and equipment rentals also operate according to the recommendations and rules specified by the Chief Sanitary Inspector.

  • Instructors comply with the obligation to cover their mouth and nose during classes, while contacting with trainees and riding using the ski lifts.
  • Meeting places with instructors have been restricted and designated in one zone only.
  • We recommend refraining from operating the waiting rooms at the slope ski schools.
  • We recommend sanitizing the equipment in rentals in the resorts (each time the equipment is put back by the customer).

Catering Services

The functioning of the slope catering facilities is fully dependent on the regulations of the competent ministries and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. Nevertheless, we have defined universal rules within which such facilities should function on a permanent basis.

  • We comply with the obligation to cover nose and mouth and sanitizing hands during work and we ask you to do so.
  • We provide all employees of catering facilities with personal protective equipment – masks, gloves, face shields and disinfectants.
  • While waiting in the queue at the cash desk, please keep a distance of 1.5 m.
  • The outdoor tables are disinfected regularly.
  • Hand dryers have been turned off in toilets, as directed by the sanitary authorities.

In addition to the procedures recommended by state institutions, we have also implemented additional measures and investments that will increase the level of safety and help reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Ticket machines

Even before the start of the 2020/2021 season, we have equipped some of our stations with modern ticket machines that will enable the purchase, top-up and collection of the Tatry Super Ski Passes. This investment will significantly shorten the queues to the cash desks.

SKIDATA vending machines are equipped with a cashless payment terminal and a large, legible 18.5-inch touch screen, which we disinfect regularly. They offer service in several languages ​​and will be available around the clock – also out of the opening hours of the cash desks.

You will be able to collect the passes purchased online both at the cash desk and at the machine - in three different ways:

  • Manually typing the order number
  • Scanning a barcode from a printed order
  • Scanning a barcode from the smartphone or tablet screen

To all those who would like to spend this winter on the slope, we already offer the opportunity to safely buy tickets online.

On the website of our store, not only passes and permissions can be purchased - those of you who already have a Tatry Super Ski card, may top it up online and go directly to the slope - without visiting the cash desk or the machine.

The purpose of the implemented procedures is:

  • Increasing the safety and health protection of employees (staff), visitors / customers of the ski station.
  • Minimizing the risk of infection of employees / staff and visitors / customers.
  • Integrated anti-epidemic action adjusted to the stage of the epidemic.
  • Limiting the occurrence of situations that may lead to the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 virus.

If your health condition raises doubts or you do not feel well, please take extra precautions and stay at home if possible - so as not to endanger yourself or others. According to the MSI recommendations, in the event of clear symptoms of illness (such as persistent cough, malaise, difficulty breathing), we reserve the right to refuse admission to the facility.

If, during your stay, you notice symptoms of Covid-19 (dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.), you should immediately contact the relevant services dialing the emergency number 999 or 112 and report this fact to the staff of the ski station or accommodation facility where you are staying. Appropriate instructions and all further steps will be provided during the interview.

Shared Responsibility

This season, we did our best to ensure the safety and comfort of using our stations. Let's remember that we all act together for our common good.

Basic elements of ski equipment will also protect us from pathogens. Balaclavas, bandanas, gloves and goggles – just like face masks - reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses.
