Poland’s Best Ski Resort 2018

The World Ski Awards, founded in 2013, are the only global initiative that works to promote the best places on the ski tourism world map. Granting prestigious awards to industry leaders is conducive to raising standards, and therefore has a huge impact on the development of skiing as a whole. This year's ceremony was already the sixth in the history of the World Ski Awards. As it used to be in previous years, also this year guests were invited to a luxurious, five-star hotel A-ROSA, located in the picturesque surroundings of the Kitzbühel Alps. The three-day event was attended by the most outstanding experts of the skiing tourism from around the world.

World Ski Awards 2018 brought together delegates from the ski countries in Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australia.

World Ski Awards are granted for individual countries in several categories, including the Best Ski Resort, the Best Ski Hotel or the Best Ski Boutique Hotel. Winners of individual categories in a given country receive distinction at the global level. There are also categories in which titles are given only at the international level, eg. World's Best Ski Tour Operator, World's Best Freestyle Resort, World's Best Indoor Ski Resort or World's Best New Ski Hotel.

The winners of the competition were selected based on a previously taken vote. It was completed at the end of September and collected a record number of votes cast by leading specialists operating in the ski tourism industry and hundreds of thousands of skiers from around the world. All ski resorts and hotels in tourist resorts from the 26 best countries for skiing were rated.

The Kotelnica Białczańska Ski Resort has already been awarded the title Poland's Best Ski Resort for the third time in a row. Thus, Kotelnica turned out to be unrivalled comparing to the other 11 Polish nominees taking part in the voting. Białka Tatrzańska was therefore included in a very prestigious group, among such ski resorts as Kitzbühel, Val Thorens, Lake Louise Ski Resort or Laax. Noteworthy is also the fact that again Hotel Bania Thermal & Ski located at the foot of Kotelnica in Białka Tatrzańska was announced as the Poland's Best Ski Hotel 2018.

The main award - World's Best Ski Resort 2018 - was again granted to the French Val Thorens, which was thus recognised as the best ski resort in the world.
